Indiana National Road annual meeting Oct. 25

The 2015 Indiana National Road Association annual meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25 from 1-3 p.m. at Rick's Smokehouse in the historic Wassell Inn, 3102 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute.

The National Road, more commonly known as U.S. 40, bisects Putnam County as it runs east and west completely across the state.

Rick Burchell, current owner of the Wassell Inn, will speak on the history of the facility, followed by keynote speaker Mike McCormick,the Vigo County historian.

There will also be a brief business meeting and discussion of highlights of INRA for the year.

The public is invited to attend to learn more about INRA and upcoming projects.

A lunch of pulled pork, hash-brown casserole, mac and cheese, salad, cookie and beverage is $15 per person.
