Banner Graphic: What is it like being a senior on this team?

Brad Hodges: It's a good feeling. For the senior season to be going as well as it is. It feels good. We haven't been successful in the last few seasons and it's nice to see the hard work that we've been putting in pay off this year.

BG: What is your favorite thing about football?

BH: It's the family aspect. There is great bonding with your team. That's something you don't get from anything else apart from your immediate family. That's what they are. They are a family.

BG: What is your favorite thing about your teammates?

BH: Everyone works together. We don't care who gets the ball we are focused on the team. It doesn't matter if someone gets one or two touches a game. They'll give it their all. There are no "me me me" guys. We are all for the team.

BG: What was it like when you first started playing?

BH: I was in first grade and I was supposed to play flag but we told them we were in second so I could play tackle. I loved it from the start. I was always playing or picking up a football and throwing it around. Once I started playing it became my passion right away.

BG: What are some of your best memories playing at North Putnam?

BH: Beating South Putnam this year. There were so many doubters all saying with the new conference how it would be tough. They said South was going to be one of the best and we wouldn't do so well. When we beat them it was a great thing for the team.

BG: What are your team's goals?

BH: Our No. 1 goal is to beat Sullivan. We try hard to stay focused on the next game. That is what coach is always preaching. The next game is the most important game of the season.

After that we always break down with "State Champs." That's something that we feel is possible. If we stay focused on the next game it's always a possibility.

BG: What are your post-high school plans?

BH: I'm going to be a nursing major. I'm going to get into the nursing field. I'm just looking for the right school where I can do that and play football. There's a possibility that I will play and that I won't play in college. It's just a matter of if I can find a place that has a good family atmosphere. Some place fun and is worth all the time and effort that I've put into it.

BG: What is your interest in the nursing field?

BH: That's just me wanting to help people. I thought it's either that or a lawyer. Nursing is more one on one. I can get to know people and really impact their lives. Plus as a male I'll always be able to get a job anywhere. It's a smart decision and I'd enjoy doing it.
