Ghost walk event set for Oct. 30 at Crawfordsville

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Crawfordsville History Mystery Tour, an approximate one-mile ghost walk around downtown Crawfordsville, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30.

It is not a haunted house or fright field where people dressed in Halloween costumes jump out and scare people. It offers a dozen or so chillingly true stories from Montgomery County's past. One tale involves a man convicted of murder and sentenced to death by hanging. The sentence was indeed carried out -- three times. Tour patrons will also see a video that shows a ghost crossing the street and walking into a downtown business.

The tour begins at 7:30 p.m. and goes through downtown Crawfordsville rain or shine. Total walking distance is about one mile.

Tickets are available before the event for $8 per person or $15 per couple. The night of the tour, tickets will be $13 and $20. They are available at 101 W. Main St., Ste. 301, Crawfordsville, or by calling 765-361-0100 Ext. 22 for more information.
