Lady Tigers claim NCAC

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The DePauw women's soccer team claimed the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 3-0 win over Allegheny on Saturday.

The win moved the Tigers to 10-6-1 overall and a 7-1 conference record as they head into the conference tournament with home field advantage.

On Saturday, the Tigers received goals from Abbie Enright (33:19), Stephanie Martin (55:11) and Bridget Brendza (80:35), while goalies Riley Riordan and Sarah Cho combined to record the shutout. Riordan took the start, the win and made one save in 84:49. Cho played the final 5:11.

Enright scored off a deflection. Brendza recorded an assist on Martin's goal and Lear recorded one on Brendza's goal, which Brendza scored on a header after a corner kick.

The Tigers outshot Allegheny 13-8 and took five corners to Allegheny's one. DePauw also committed 10 fouls to Allegheny's six.

The men's soccer team took a 3-2 win at Allegheny on Saturday to wrap up its regular season.

The win pushed the Tigers to 11-2-4 overall and a 6-1-2 record in North Coast Athletic Conference play and secured a spot in the conference tournament.

The Tigers controlled most of the game, especially in the first half, as they took a 2-0 lead at halftime. Alieu Musa broke the scoreless tie at 27:36, and Taras Tataryn made it a 2-0 game at 36:18. EJ Moore and Musa picked up an assist on the goals.

Allegheny (4-11-2, 3-5-1) recorded its first goal at 51:22 off a goal by Aaron Donahoe. The score stayed 2-1 until Adrian Ables scored the game-winner at 75:30 off an assist from Mitch Reavis. Allegheny would score again at 88:13 but could not complete the comeback.

Chris Yount (10-2-4) recorded the win in net. He made five saves as Allegheny took 15 shots. Allegheny's Jake Pugliese (4-11-2) took the loss. He made seven saves as DePauw took 21 shots.

DePauw also took 10 corners to Allegheny's four.
