Putnam County property taxes due Nov. 10

Putnam County Treasurer Sharon Owens would like to remind the taxpayers that the fall installment for property tax is due Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Residents are asked to mail their payment, drop it off in person, drop off at a participating bank or pay online by the deadline.

Payments by mail may be sent to Putnam County Treasurer, PO Box 508, Greencastle, IN 46135

Banks accepting property tax payments include Old National Bank, First National Bank, North Salem State Bank and Tri-County Bank. In order for the banks to process a payment residents must provide them with their tax statement.

Payments are also welcomed in the Putnam County Treasurer's office located on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The office will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The Treasurer's Office will also accept partial payments, however there will be a penalty added after the due date on the unpaid balance. Partial payments may be mailed or paid in the office for your convenience year round.

Tax payments may also be made with a credit card or debit card at www.putnamtax.net or by calling 1-800-809-5849. There is a processing fee for using the online or phone payment option.

No credit or debit card payments are accepted in the treasurer's office.

All payments if mailed must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 10 to avoid a late penalty charge.

Heritage Lake property owners are also reminded if they have a Fall Exceptional Benefit payment, it is also due on Nov. 10.
