Bainbridge FD to host second annual chili cook-off
In a tradition started last year, the Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department will again host the Putnam County Fire Departments Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Bainbridge Community Building.
Departments taking part include Reelsville, Madison, Greencastle, Russellville, Clinton, Bellmore, Bainbridge and even Trooper Charlie Boller representing the Indiana State Police.
The event will begin at 6 p.m., with the $5 admission fee to be split among the participating departments.
Donations may also be made to individual departments in the boots at their tables.
Each department is allowed two entries, for regular chili and spicy chili.
A blind vote will take place this year as a fair way to determine the best overall chili and the best combined department chili.
The Bainbridge Fire Department will also be accepting donates of coats and clothes for the Mission Beyond of Bainbridge Christian Church. These church volunteers will also be taking any leftover food to the homeless downtown Indianapolis.
