Dorothy D. Birt

Dorothy D. Birt, 95, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015.

Born June 1, 1920 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of James Edward and Mae T. (Surber) Birt.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Dorothy had retired from Dow Chemical Co., where she had been an office worker for several years.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Greencastle.

She is survived by her brother, James V. (Hope) Birt, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold, Norman and Julian Birt; and a sister, Freda Collins.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9 at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
