Jeffrey David Ummel

Jeffrey David Ummel, 54, of Greencastle, passed away on Nov. 9, 2015 with his family by his side.

Born July 5, 1961 in Elkhart, he was the son of John (Dave) and Nancy (Hunsberger) Ummel, and was a 1979 graduate of Concord High School, Elkhart.

Jeff was a master carpenter and owned J.D. Ummel Construction in Mechanicsville, Md. for many years.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Dave (1989) and Nancy (1978).

Jeff is survived by his son, Joshua D. Ummel of Powell, Tenn.; brother Patrick (Diane) Ummel; and nephews Jason and Derek of Greencastle; step-mother Bonnie Ummel of Bradenton, Fla.; and wives, Cynthia (Penland) Ummel (1982) and Pamela (Grimes) Ummel (1992).

Also surviving are aunts Starley (Charles) Morrison, LaPlata, Md., Margaret (Ernie) Hunsberger Kenega, Elkhart, Beulah Hunsberger, Wakarusa, Pauline (Ummel) Letherman, New Paris, Donna (John) Ummel Cuthbert, Prescott, Ariz.; Judy (Ummel) Pruitt, Denver, Colo. and uncle Winfred (Virginia) Hunsberger, Wakarusa.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2 p.m. service on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W Waterford St., Wakarusa, with interment at Olive (West) Cemetery, Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff's memory to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA.org).
