Jane Griffin-Shillings

Jane Griffin-Shillings, 93, Roachdale, passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at 10:40 a.m. in her home with family.

Jane was born on May 15, 1922 in Central City, Ky., to Lona and Monroe Vincent.

She was married and had three children. She was a homemaker of 73 years. She spent her time crocheting, quilting, making ceramics and raising her children.

She moved to Indianapolis, and then Roachdale later in life.

She is survived by her three children, Connis (Patricia) Collins, of Indianapolis, Linda (Wallace) Burris, of Roachdale, and Glenda (Joe) Jackson, of Russellville.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Donald (Joyce) Burris, Connie (Joe Couch) McCurrey, Herschell (Cindi) Burris, Brian (Jill) Collins, Candice (Jerry) Fischer, Jane Ann (Bob) Phipps, James (Krista) Awbrey, Joan L. (Jeff) Kochert, 21 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Pauline Wells and Russel Vincent from Kentucky, husbands Herschel Griffin and Paul Shillings, grandson Glen William Awbrey, and great-great-granddaughter Braelynn Faye McCurrey.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, with Pastor Shannon Ivers officiating. Burial will follow in Blakesburg Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
