Penelope Jean 'Penny' Gardner Green

Penelope Jean "Penny" Gardner Green, 71, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015.

Born Aug. 16, 1944 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of George and Ruby (Honnold) Gardner.

She was a graduate of Wiley High School and Union Hospital School of Nursing, Terre Haute.

Penny was a registered nurse at Putnam County Hospital for 31 years.

She was a member of the Greencastle Christian Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 104 in Terre Haute.

She married Kieth Nelson Green on June 10, 1977, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2012.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Gardner.

She is survived by her five children, Michael (Julie) Lee, Laurie Gobert, Jonathan (Shannon) Green, Julienne (Brett Terry) Green and Byron Green; nine grandchildren, Keelie Allen, Connor Allen, Eryn Lee, Ellen Gobert, Nathan Gobert, Isabella Green, Evelyn Green, Lillian Green and Alexandra Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 at the funeral home.
