Five pounds of suspected marijuana found in traffic stop in Morgan County

LITTLE POINT -- Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne of the Putnamville Post stopped a black Ford pickup for an unsafe lane movement in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 52-mile marker Friday at 2:41 p.m.

During conversations with the driver, Dravigne noticed possible indicators of criminal activity. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of five pounds of suspected marijuana in the cargo area of the truck.

The driver, Alan Wamsganz, 63, Avondale, Colo., was arrested and transported to the Morgan County Jail on charges of dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia

The contraband was allegedly en route to the East Coast.

Assisting were ISP Troopers James Wells and Brad Smith.
