County Jail
Five people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.
* At 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Benjamin Thomas Campbell, 28, Greenwood, was lodged at the jail for contempt of court.
* At 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Joseph Alan Hagan, 26, Cloverdale, was arrested for probation violation.
At 1:15 a.m. Alisha Marie Lewis, 35, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for contempt of court.
At 1:15 a.m. Samuel Andrew Robertson, 36, Spencer, was charged with probation violation.
At 1:15 a.m. Jodi Lee Shrake, 32, Mooresville, was booked in for theft.
Sheriff's Department
Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to three recent property-damage accidents.
* At 9:36 p.m. on Sunday, Dustin K. Brauer, 36, Reelsville, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2015 GMC Acadia, following Harold T. Boswell, 55, Greencastle, in a 2004 GMC Envoy.
Brauer told Deputy Stephen Smith he noticed Boswell's vehicle preparing to turn left onto County Road 800 South. He said he tried to slow his vehicle but misjudged the distance and rear-ended Boswell's vehicle.
Boswell's SUV came to rest in the southbound lanes, lying on the driver's side. He was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by firefighters from Cloverdale Township. He complained of neck and back pain and was taken to Putnam County Hospital by Operation Life.
Two passengers in Boswell's vehicle were also taken to Putnam County Hospital for their injuries.
Brauer was evaluated by Operation Life because of airbag deployment but refused medical treatment.
Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.
* At 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Shayne C. Frost, 40, Bainbridge, was northbound in the North Putnam High School parking lot, pulling up to an intersection in a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Anthony L. Gray, 53, Coatesville, was on the main drive in the parking lot in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu.
As Gray rounded the corner into the parking lot and Frost began to pull onto the main drive, the two vehicles collided, damaging the left front corner of Frost's car and the right front fender, door and rear quarter panel of Gray's car.
Deputy Anthony Brown estimated damage at $2,501-$5,000.
* At 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Justin T. Whitaker, 19, Thorntown, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2006 Infiniti G35 when he hit a deer.
Deputy Kyle Gibbons estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.
