RUSSELLVILLE -- More than 150 folks from all around the tri-county area came out Thursday night to the Russellville Community Center to prepare for the 14th annual Christmas Choir concert, taking place tonight through Sunday.

Jamie France, who has an integral role in the production as conductor, said the turnout this year has exceeded his expectations. In fact, with nearly 70 children and 82 adults, this year may be the biggest production to date.

Though the preceding dinner is free, donations will be accepted. France stressed Thursday during dress rehearsal that if visitors want to take part in the meal, they had "better get there early."

Jerry Prince, who was also on hand and will be acting as videographer for the show, said the children have really taken to the music, the production and their collective roles. Retired Roachdale Elementary music teacher Debbie Myers has come back to the program after being absent for one year to corral the kids and help with their music.

The program begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and begins at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The concert and meal are free but donations are encouraged. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. with visitors usually lining up by 5:30 p.m.
