PCPL Authors' Series to feature Stu Fabe's 'Becoming Stardust'

Sunday, December 6, 2015

The Putnam County Public Library will welcome new author, Stuart Fabe, on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. for an Authors' Series Talk, Q & A, sale and signing of his book, "Becoming Stardust."

The story is set in a small Indiana college town. It tells the tale of Judge Thadeus Nation whose life changes course when a crazed killer, sentenced by the judge to life in prison, escapes and savagely murders the judge's wife and a beloved neighbor.

In an effort to heal from their devastating losses, Judge Nathan and his young neighbor, Wade Henry, embark on a road trip across North America. Unfortunately, the killer is still on the loose.

Throughout his career, Fabe has been an individual who always attempted to bring an "artistic approach" to his work life, whether in designing and implementing successful fundraising campaigns for important charities in Cincinnati or in creating his own unique artwork and photography.

Prior to moving to Putnam County in 2005, his artistic endeavors mainly centered on photography and printmaking. Fabe has had five exhibitions of his fine art photographs and a separate gallery exhibition of his woven gourd art.

Once in Putnam County with his multi-talented partner, Marla Helton, the two have concentrated on traveling the Midwest and exhibiting and selling their gourd art at major art shows. Together, their art won numerous awards and their story was printed in several major newspapers and international magazines.

In recent years, Fabe has enjoyed publishing books of his photographs spanning some 30 years and creating the whimsical book "Wild Women of Gourdonia."
