Norman Douglas Warren III, 53, Greencastle, went to see Jesus on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 following a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and lived in Greencastle, Ind.

Norman was born to Jerilyn and Norman Douglas Warren II.

He is survived by his wife, three children, mother and eight siblings.

Norman received a B.S. from Ball State University where he met his wife of 31 years, Heidi Beckman-Warren. They had three children, Thea (Warren) Simpson, Rena (Warren) Hale and Aleta Warren.

Norman came to Greencastle to pastor the Community Church of God. Over the years, he has also served as a union chaplain, relief pastor, Bible study leader and volunteered on numerous boards.

For the last 10 years, Norman worked in the community as case manager for Hamilton Center.

Norm had a gift of loving and caring for those often overlooked by the majority of society. Before moving to Greencastle he worked for 10 years in intercity ministries, reaching out to teens.

Norm's unconditional love, through Christ, toward others will leave a void.

For the last three years Norman has enjoyed bridge and attained Regional Master level.

His celebration service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. with a pitch-in to follow at Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 653 S. CR 100 East, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations toward Norm's medical expenses.
