James R. McCullough, 85, of Cloverdale, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015.

Born Feb. 20, 1930 in Brazil, Ind., he was the son of Ren and Faye (Giltz) McCullough.

He was a 1948 graduate of Reelsville High School.

He retired from IBM in Greencastle, where he had worked for 32 years and also farmed.

He was a member of First Baptist and Big Walnut Baptist Church, and was a former Cloverdale Town Council member.

Jim loved fishing, motorcycling, boating and camping with family

Survivors include his daughters, Pamela Booker and husband, Kirk of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Marlena Stevens and husband, Brent of Belle Union; a sister, Sylvia Query and husband, Duane of Greencastle; grandchildren, Joshua Johnson of Baton Rouge and Taylor Stevens of Amo; and five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Justice, Dayton, Brenna and Levi; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie L. McCullough; a son, Dale McCullough, granddaughter Jessica Johnson, sister Edna Smith, and brother Edgar McCullough.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3 at Big Walnut Baptist Church, Reelsville.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
