Cloverdale man back in county to face sex charges
Still serving a sentence with the Department of Correction for sex offenses in a Vigo County case, a Cloverdale man was returned to the Putnam County Jail Wednesday for a Thursday morning hearing in Putnam Circuit Court.
Jeremy Scott Doerr, 38, most recently of New Castle Correctional Facility, is charged with Class C felony child molesting in a case involving a then 11-year-old girl.
The child was a family member of Doerr's girlfriend at the time, Victoria Lynn Anderson, 31, Cloverdale.
During Doerr's Thursday pre-trial conference, Judge Matt Headley scheduled a jury trial for Feb. 24.
Both Doerr and Anderson are currently serving sentences with the DOC for related convictions out of Vigo County. The acts occurred during a stay at a motel in Terre Haute and spawned charges in both counties.
In July 2014, Doerr pleaded guilty to child molesting and vicarious sexual gratification in a Vigo County court and was sentenced to six years with the Department of Correction. With good time credits, his projected release date on the Vigo County offense is July 2.
Anderson is currently housed at Rockville Correctional Facility serving an eight-year sentence out of Vigo County for child molesting as well as a two-year sentence for neglect of a dependent. With the sentences served consecutively, her projected release date is December 2018.
Anderson also pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent in Putnam Circuit Court in September 2014. Her three-year sentence is being served concurrently with her Vigo County commitment and will be up in February.
Indiana State Police arrested the duo in December 2013 after the 11-year-old victim alerted another family member about the molestation.
During the investigation, ISP detectives and the Putnam County Department of Child Services developed information alleging that Anderson and Doerr showed the victim various sexual-related pictures and videos, engaged in various sexual acts in front of the young victim and then required the young victim to engage in various sex acts with the couple and again with Doerr independently.
