Monday, January 11, 2016

The Humane Society of Putnam County has initiated an emergency food pantry for county pets. It is located at Rescued Treasures, 1021 Indianapolis Rd., Greencastle.

Any Putnam County resident needing assistance feeding their cat or dog for a temporary time, or any resident who has taken in a stray animal and is housing/feeding it until the owners are found, may visit Rescued Treasures for food assistance.

Food assistance includes dry food, wet food and treats for both cats and dogs.

The emergency food pantry is available to residents in the county regardless of income or situation.

The pantry is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

If assistance is needed during closed hours, persons may contact the Humane Society at hspcanimals14@gmail.com to arrange an appointment for assistance.

The emergency pet food pantry is made possible by donations from residents of Putnam County.
