Putnamville Correctional Facility hosted a recent student tour for pre-law students from DePauw University and their Winter Term instructor, Darrell Eddie Felling (right). The walk through the facility enlightened students to the daily functions of day-to-day incarcerated offenders after sentencing and correctional staff. Some important aspects of the tour were visiting restricted housing units, the Purposeful Living Units Serve program dorm, and visiting the law library that most likely will affect these law majors in the near future.

The internal affairs office also proved to be an interesting stop for class members as they learned about various security threat groups that affect Putnamville, viewed the updated camera system and got a look at a display of homemade weapons found inside the prison. "Our connection to the local educational community is very important to us," PCF Supt. Brian Smith said of the DePauw class visit.
