Cardiac Score and lung cancer screens now more affordable

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Effective Feb. 1, the Cardiac Score and Lung Cancer Screen will be available for $39.95 each at Putnam County Hospital.

When both screens are purchased, the price is $59.95.

Hospital officials said the price reduction in these life-saving screens at Putnam County Hospital is part of the PCH Community Wellness Initiative.

Putnam County Hospital is committed to being the community's wellness resource by providing tools and expertise to help friends and neighbors become more proactive in their health, PCH officials added.

PCH now offers gift certificates for cardiac scoring and lung cancer screens. Gift certificates are available at the hospital Business Office, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

No referral for the screenings are needed, and the screenings are self-pay.

To schedule an appointment for a Cardiac Score and/or Lung Cancer Screen, persons may call 658-2760.

As of Jan. 1, Lung Cancer Screens are covered by Medicare for those that fall under the identified risk factors. Patients are advised to talk to their family provider to see if they qualify.
