Donola Elizabeth Payton Carrier

Donola Elizabeth Payton Carrier, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016.

She was born Dec. 5, 1921 in Jessup, Ind., to the late Paul and Lillie Smith Payton.

Donola was a 1940 graduate of Rosedale High School.

She married Milford E. Carrier on Dec. 25, 1940, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Donola was a member of the Washburn Chapter of NSDAR, Greencastle, and Liberty Baptist Church, Jessup.

Donola is survived by her loving daughters, Paula Jo Lickliter and Ruth Ann Lucas; sister Lola Mae Grinley; brother Loren Dale Payton; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Donola's husband of 58 years, Milford E. Carrier; brothers, George, Edward, Quentin and Donald; sisters Juanita and Marilyn; grandson Brad; and son-in-law Oscar Lickliter preceded her in death.

Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel (www.shirleybrothers.com), 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis.
