Hazel Marie Stevens

Hazel Marie Stevens, 91, passed away on Feb. 12, 2016 at Asbury Towers Retirement Community, Greencastle.

She was born March 16, 1924 in Hazard, Ky. to Rosa Stamper Turner and Willie Turner.

She was a member of the Hanna Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stevens enjoyed the Church Missionary Meeting, Bible Study and other church activities.

She married Eugene Stevens in Hazard, Ky., on Oct 18, 1945 and moved to Indiana in 1950.

Survivors include three sons, James Eugene Stevens, Robert Michael Stevens and George Sherrill Stevens; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Stevens, Sue Daily; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, son Thomas Wayne Stevens and three brothers, Bill, Nathan and Fred Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
