Randy A. Carpenter

Randy A. Carpenter, 60, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Randy was born in Greencastle on April 16, 1955, the son of Kenneth and Doris Jane (Hamm) Carpenter both of whom survive.

On Feb. 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Deborah (Debbie) Hipskind, in Warsaw, Ind., and she survives.

Randy was a member of the Seymour First Baptist Church.

He worked as an engineer at Valeo Sylvania for 25 years until his retirement.

He was a proud member of the NRA. Randy enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife; parents; daughter, Dr. Jamie (Chris) Brummett; two grandchildren, Eli and Will Brummett; brother, Rick Carpenter, sister, Micki (Scott) Gareiss, sisters-in-law, Diane Carpenter and Yolanda (Al) Kuta; brother-in-law, Terry (Linda) Hipskind, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Carpenter, and a brother, Gary Carpenter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Seymour First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may gather at Voss Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and at Seymour First Baptist Church on Saturday after 10 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be given to Riley Children's Hospital or Seymour First Baptist Church.
