Virginia Frances Johnston

Virginia Frances Johnston, 77, Roachdale, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 at her residence.

She was born May 10, 1938 in Noblesville to the late John and Jane (Henin) Cobert.

On Feb. 6, 1956 in Danville, Ind., she married the love of her life, Robert Clinton Jr. He survives.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling, NASCAR and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Johnston Jr., Roachdale; children Bobby (Trudy) Johnston III, Rick (Cammie) Johnston, Debbie (Allan) Mehl, Roberta (Daniel) Wessel and Diana Lawhorn; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Tibbs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Eva Cobert and son William Johnston.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St. Roachdale, with Pastors Mike Thurmond and Wally Beam officiating.

Burial will follow at New Maysville Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the church and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Virginia's memory may be made to the Johnston family.
