Tuesday, February 23, 2016

The community is invited to attend a chili dinner Sunday, Feb. 28 from 3-7 p.m. at the Dixie Chopper Business Center, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle, to benefit 21-year-old Jaron Berry of Roachdale.

The 2013 North Putnam High School graduate was in a horrific car accident and nearly died while en route to work the morning of Jan. 8.

Berry has been hospitalized at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis since his accident and has a long road to recovery. He will be unable to work for many more undetermined months.

Sunday's benefit is being organized by friends, family members and community members with all proceeds going to help Berry with medical bills and household and personal expenses during his long recovery.

Admission to the benefit is $5. There will also be a chili dinner with all the fixings, peanut butter sandwich and drink for $5.

The festivities will also include a bake sale, raffle, live auction and T-shirt sale.

Live entertainment will be provided by the local band War Radio.

Any community businesses or members who would like to donate items or services for the raffle or auction may contact Lisa McCutchan at 765-376-2746 or email her at ldgm1974@yahoo.com.

Donation needs include theme baskets, sports items, gift certificates for services, dining and activities, electronics, home and garden items, food items and homemade crafts. Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
