Friday, February 26, 2016

The Cloverdale Community School Board has unanimously approved the proposal for the 2016 Snails to Trails summer schoool.

For its second year, the two-week program will be offered to Cloverdale students in grades 4-8 and selected by teachers Susi Jordan and Jennifer Mann for their citizenship and whether they "will make a positive contribution to the field trip experience."

This year the selected students will have the opportunity to volunteer at Gleaners Food Bank, tour one of the last working rotary jails in the United States, visit Indiana Dunes State Park and watch "Beauty and the Beast" performed at Beef and Boards Dinner Theater. They will also visit the Dellara Indy Car Factory in Indianapolis and the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky.

Field trips will run from June 6-17, and students can choose which of the two sessions to attend. A registration fee of $200 will cover all gate fees and transportation costs.

"Students will learn new things, see new places, make new friends and form memories that will last a lifetime," the teachers said.
