Registration open for March computer classes

Friday, February 26, 2016

Putnam County Public Library will be offering four computer classes in March.

The computer classes being offered are lecture classes instead of the usual hands-on classes and are designed to introduce patrons to the Internet.

On Friday, March 4, Introduction to the Internet will introduce patrons to search engines, browsers and some of the best websites on the Internet.

On Friday, March 11, Safety and Security on the Internet class will discuss safeguarding privacy and keeping your computer and information secure while using the Internet.

On Friday, March 18, Introduction to Cloud Computing will introduce patrons to cloud computing, free cloud software from Google and Microsoft, and why cloud computing is the way the world will be using computers in the future.

On Friday, March 25, Introduction to Social Networking will introduce patrons to a variety of websites devoted to socializing with others online and ways to protect privacy while enjoying a rich online social life.

All classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited.

Classes are two hours long with a break.

For a schedule of upcoming classes, view the library website at pcpl21.org, call Mike at 653-2755 Ext. 118, or stop by the circulation or reference desks at the library.
