County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 10 a.m. on Thursday, Mark Wade Eageny, 49, Stilesville, was housed at the jail for operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

At 3:02 p.m. Matthew Gibson Kennedy, 33, Coatesville, was charged with motor vehicle theft.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department personnel responded to one recent property-damage accident.

* At 1:11 a.m. on Thursday, Joanna R. Reynolds, 23, Greencastle, was northbound on U.S. 231 approaching County Road 350 South in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous.

Reynolds told Deputy Virgil Lanning she lost control on a patch of ice and slid off the right side of the road. The vehicle hit a utility pole and came to rest in a grassy field.

Reynolds was able to get out of the vehicle before it caught fire. The vehicle was a total loss.

Operation Life transported Reynolds to Putnam County Hospital for evaulation of a possible arm injury.

Damage was estimated at $25,001-$50,000.

City Police

Greencastle City Police made one recent arrest.

* At 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Officer Kyle Lee made at traffic stop on East Liberty Street that resulted in the arrest of Jarod Gruenholz, 42, Plainfield.

Facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, Gruenholz was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

City Police officers also investigated one recent traffic accident.

* At 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, a two-car accident was reported on Indianapolis Road near Calbert Way.

Hana Clodfelter, 26, Greencastle, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, slowing for the stoplight as it turned yellow, when her car was struck from behind by a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Lindsey Weist, 35, Greencastle.

Weist told Officer Darrel Bunten her car began sliding on the wet pavement as she tried to stop for the light and a collision occurred.

Clodfelter was initially entrapped in her car with her legs pinned after the collision.

She was later reportedly taken to Putnam County Hospital via private vehicle with head pain and a stiff neck.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches.

* At 8:54 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to an unauthorized burn at 1037 Avenue E. GFD extinguished the flames and returned to station at 9:03 a.m.

* At 11:02 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 415 Anderson St. but was disregarded en route. GFD returned to station at 11:03 a.m.
