County Jail

Nine people were recently booked into the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 11:39 a.m. on Friday, Anita Carol Cundiff, 43, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on informal charges of failure to appear.

-- At 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, Michael Allen Kessler, 68, Greencastle, was booked into the jail on a local warrant for domestic battery.

-- At 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, Troy Lee Morphew, 42, Greencastle, was on lodged at the jail on another authority's warrant.

-- At 12:44 a.m. on Sunday, Wilbur James Thomas Jr., 61, Roachdale, was booked into the jail on informal charges of operating while intoxicated.

-- At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Michelle Renee Pettit, 41, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a informal charges of possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespassing and failure to appear.

-- At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Patrick Zaborski, 45, Indianapolis, was booked into the jail on informal charges of intimidation.

-- At 7:44 p.m. on Monday, Christopher L. Sutton, 39, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on informal charges of motor vehicle theft.

-- At 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Joe Michael Cagle, 56, Greencastle, was booked into the jail on a local warrant.

-- At 12:23 a.m. on Tuesday, James Jason Campbell, 35, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on informal charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Sheriff's Department

One recent traffic accident was investigated by Putnam County Sheriff Department officers.

-- At 12 p.m. on Sunday, a one-vehicle accident was reported on U.S. 231 just north of County Road 24 South.

Officer Donnie Pettit reported that Randy Brekke, 52, Nevada, was hauling a farm machine planter in a 2007 Toyota Tundra when he veered right to avoid traffic. He hit the guardrail, which in turn hit the pickup. No injuries were reported. The guardrail, truck and planter received damage estimated at $5,000- $10,000.

City Police

Two recent traffic accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 1:54 p.m. Saturday, a two-car accident was reported on State Road 240 at Percy Julian Drive.

Sgt. Ed Wilson reported that a 2010 Toyota Camry, driven by Melissa Woods, 44, Jasonville, was stopped westbound at the four-way stopsign when Woods proceeded into the intersection and her car collided with a 1998 Toyota Camry, driven by Kyndra Boyce, 20, Greencastle.

Boyce had reportedly stopped at the stopsign facing north before proceeding into the intersection.

Total damage in the mishap was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

* At 1:49 p.m. Thursday, March 17, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Indianapolis Road, west of 10th Street.

Capt. Chris Jones reported that Glen Oney, 74, Danville, was eastbound on Indianapolis Road in a 2005 Toyota Sienna when he decided to turn around and tried to turn left into the Acute Medical Care parking lot. Oney did not see a westbound 2001 Dodge Ram, driven by Scott Bunten, 28, Fillmore, Capt. Jones reported, and a collision occurred.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $5,000-$10,000.

Six recent traffic citations were issued by GPD officers.

* At 3:15 p.m. Monday, Satori Ferguson, 18, Reelsvile, was cited by Capt. Jones.

Stopped on South Jackson Street, Ferguson was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

* At 2:40 p.m. Monday, Peter Hornbuckle, 62, Greencastle, was ticketed for speeding by Capt. Jones.

Stopped on South Jackson Street, Hornbuckle was cited for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 10:10 a.m. Monday, Shakira Vega-Moldonado, 20, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Jones.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive, Vega-Moldonado was cited for being an operator never licensed.

* At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Summer Baker, 19, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Zach Rhine.

Stopped on Judson Court, Baker was ticketed for a child restraint violation.

* At 8:08 p.m. Saturday, Preston Lady, 20, Greencastle, was cited for speeding by Capt. Charles Inman.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Lady was ticketed for driving in excess of 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 11:20 p.m. Friday, Daymian Weist, 20, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Kyle Lee.

Stopped at Liberty Street and College Avenue, Weist was cited for being an operator never licensed.

Cloverdale Police

The Cloverdale Police Department performed the following traffic stop:

* Derek Biega, 19, Newburgh, was cited for failure to register vehicle and operating without financial responsibility at U.S. 40 and U.S. 231.
