DPU wins in Tucson, now 7-5

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A 7-5 win over Luther on Monday gave the Tigers a 7-5 record as they continue their spring break trip in Tucson, Ariz.

Reid Pittard continued with his hot bat, going 2-for-5 with 2 RBI as the Tigers scored three runs in the final two bottom half innings to squeak by for the win.

Jack Thompson, Collin Einertson and Zack Wade also recorded two hits for the Tigers. Wade and Stewart recorded doubles, and Connor Einertson hit a triple. Both Einertson brothers recorded two RBI, while Mike Hammel added one in the bottom of the third.

Hammel started the game on the mound and picked up the no decision. He pitched 4.2 innings and gave up four earned runs. Danny Farrar came in for the win. Nick Horvath picked up his third save in 1.1 innings of work.

Luther failed to record a hit against either Farrar and Horvath.

The Tigers return to action Tuesday to face Lewis & Clark.
