Andrew Eugene Nichols

Andrew Eugene Nichols, 78, made his final journey to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2016 .

He was born Sept. 24, 1937 in Putnam County to Carl E. and Floy E. (Neier) Nichols.

Andy lived most of his life in the Fillmore community, attending the Fillmore School and the Fillmore Christian Church, where he was a member.

He was a United States Navy veteran of four years, serving on-board the Vulcan in the Mediterranean Sea and other assignments.

Early in his navy career he married Anna Mae (Kelly) Nichols from Milton, Ky., on April 27, 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Pamela Ann and Anna, his wife of 42 years.

He retired from Bridgeport Brass in Indianapolis and then was an over-the-road truck driver for several companies, ending this activity only a couple of years ago.

Andy is survived by sons, Randy Dean and wife Kelly of Milton and Martin Timothy and wife Geraldine of Coatesville; a brother, Ray and wife Sylvia of Lakeland, Fla.; and sister Beverly and husband C. J. of Fillmore; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 the Fillmore Christian Church. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

A private interment will be at another time in the Fillmore Cemetery.
