Auditions set April 3-4 for first Playhouse production

Director Tim Good will hold two sessions of auditions for the Putnam County Playhouse musical "Little Women."

The show will open the Putnam County Playhouse season and will be produced June 2-4 and June 8-11.

The first session will be Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. The second will be Monday, April 4, at 7 p.m.

Both sessions will be in the Rehearsal Center at the Hazel Day Longden Theater in Greencastle.

Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song and bring appropriate sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

There will also be readings from the script and a short dance audition. A song from the score will also be taught.

The minimum age for those auditioning is 14.

All roles are open and include the four March daughters Jo, Beth, Amy and Meg; their mother, Marmee and Aunt March.

The cast also includes the men in their lives, Laurie Laurence, John Brook and Professor Baher. A small ensemble will also be cast.

Musical direction for the production is Erik Foster.

Assistant directors are Jim Green and Caroline Good. Choreography is by Jack Randall Earles.
