Monday, March 28, 2016

STILESVILLE -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that U.S. 40 lanes will be restricted from the Putnam-Hendricks county line east to Plainfield beginning on or after Friday, April 1.

E&B Paving Inc. was awarded the U.S. 40 resurfacing project for $6.1 million.

The contractor will be working on U.S. 40 between State Road 75 in Stilesville to Vestal Road in Plainfield.

The project will include construction of the new curb ramps to be ADA-compliant, followed by patching and resurfacing the roadway.

The project is scheduled for completion on Aug. 30.

  • Good ol' INDOT. We'll have 240 closed for 3 months and US 36 and US 40 lane restrictions all summer. Let's just barricade Eastern Putnam County to all traffic and get it over with.

  • Wow, its like they're enforcing "buy local" to the point of not allowing an alternative...enough with the construction zones already! What is this, Atlanta?!

ADA compliant curbs? Along US40? Wow, someones pockets are getting lined with this load of BS.
