Alton 'Poppa' Trusler

Alton Carney Trusler, 73, of East Lyme, Conn., died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in New London, Conn.

He was born July 25, 1942, in Connersville, Ind., the son of Milton S. Trusler and Mary Carney Trusler.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Kay Trusler, his lifetime companion and best friend. Together they shared childhood memories; a marriage of 53 years.

Services were conducted at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, CT.

Interment will be private.
