Gleaners sets next food giveaway April 14 at fairgrounds

The Gleaners Senior Mobile Pantry will return to Greencastle on Thursday, April 14 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

The food giveaway for seniors age 55 and older will be conducted from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Inside Arena at the northwest corner of the fairgrounds.

A move to the Inside Arena was necessitated by the presence of another event already booked for the Community Building.

Participants are asked not to arrive at the arena before 10 a.m. when doors will open.

Besides being 55 and older, participants must also be Putnam County residents to participate in the food giveaway.

Those taking part should bring their own sacks or boxes and provide identification to verify their eligibility.

Gleaners will conduct the food giveaway on the second Tuesday of the month at the fairgrounds through June (returning to the Community Building next month), before moving back to the Greencastle Armory in July.
