BG: What is different this year being a senior?

KJ: It really hits home that it is your last year in the sport. You give it everything you've got.

BG: This was your first year playing football, what made you want to join the team?

KJ: It was something new. I had a lot of friends trying to get me out. I thought it's my senior year so why not. It was really fun. We came together. I made some new friends and closer friends and gained a stronger bond with coach Barrett.

BG: What was the basketball season like for you guys?

KJ: It started off slow but a little later than midway, we said that we were tired of losing. We ignored the outside stuff and noise to come together as a team.

BG : Who are some of your biggest supporters off the court?

KJ: My mom and dad obviously. I've got some other family members that are contributing in my life, some friends as well and then God. It makes it a lot easier whenever you are down on yourself. Being so close with people, they can support you and everything you know. They can recognize it and bring you back up.

BG: With you being a three-sport athlete what is your offseason like?

KJ: There really is no offseason. I love sports so whenever one sport is coming toward an end but it's not quite over, I'll start to add time for other sports and the upcoming season. I'll come in early and hit a little during basketball season. I shot hoops during football season.

BG: When you are preparing for the different sports what is different when preparing your mental game?

KJ: Mentally its not really anything different. Football per se it's a quick five-second play. You give everything you've got and then a 30 second break where you have to talk a lot. Basketball you are going up and down all game. You communicate on the fly. Baseball it's just your out there with a bunch of guys and communicating a lot.

BG: What are your post high school plans?

KJ: I plan to go Trine University and play baseball. It's in Angola. I want to study mechanical engineering. My engineering classes here at North Putnam. I just like building things and putting them together. Taking them apart, redesigning them and improving them.
