National Healthcare Decisions Day

Sunday, April 10, 2016

The Putnam County Hospice and Palliative Care Association (PCHPCA), along with other national, state and community organizations are participating in a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making -- an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD).

As a participating organization PCHPCA is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their decisions for end of life care with family, friends and healthcare providers.

On April 16 from 2-4 p.m. the Putnam County Hospice and Palliative Care Association's Board members are welcoming the public at the Putnam County Library.

Participants will receive a starter kit from The Conversation Project. This guide is designed to be used by families, or by individuals, as a way to help them think about and communicate important end of life decisions. Advanced Care Planning documents will also be available.

There will also be an opportunity to write on the Before I Die wall at the corner of Vine and Poplar streets.

The Greencastle Arts Council has partnered with Putnam County Hospice and Palliative Care Association to provide this experience during National Healthcare Decisions Day.
