Cloverdale gets win at Clover Meadows

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale boys' golf team followed up its performance at Northview with a win against West Vigo at Clover Meadows Tuesday. Cooper Neese was the low man on the day, scoring 38 for CHS. The Clovers had five golfers come in under 50, and CHS coach Doug Wokoun is looking forward to his Clover team improving.

"Overall, for a first effort, I was pleased," Wokoun said. "We have some things to work on, but we did a lot of things pretty well. We have some time to get things patched and polished, and I like the attitude our guys have. They are not satisfied. They know that we can get better, and I know they will put in the effort to improve.

"Cooper got off to an excellent start," Wokoun continued. "He has some things to polish up, but overall played very well. Kylar (Galloway) had a pretty good round, but ran into a few minor problems. Zach (Nichols) hit some really good shots, but was not as consistent as he will become. Drew (Boyette) and Zarek (Wellington) also had some good things happen, but had some difficulties they were not able to overcome."
