Joe E. Raab, 92, Reelsville, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville with his sons at his side.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1923 in Reelsville to the late Ira and Mary (Strobel) Raab.

Joe graduated from Reelsville High School in 1941, and served his country during World War II where he earned the Purple Heart Medal in the United States Army.

He married Gloria Riddell on Nov. 15, 1946, and she preceded him in death.

Joe was a member of the Croy's Creek Congregational Christian Church and the Knightsville Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed farming, traveling with his family, and watching Indiana University basketball.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria "Glo" Raab; son Rick Raab; brothers Raymond, Ralph, William and Kenneth Raab; and his sister, Helen Youngblood.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Raab of Indianapolis, and Jerry Raab of Chicago.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Croy's Creek Congregational Christian Church with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating and burial to follow at Croy's Creek Cemetery.

The family will accept friends for visitation on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
