Standing before friends and family Thursday in the Putnam Superior Courtroom, deputies David Scott Ducker (middle) and Elizabeth Campbell take the ceremonial oath of office from Sheriff Scott Stockton. Ducker and Campbell are the fourth and fifth new deputies since last fall. Ducker comes to the sheriff's department from the Kewanna Police Department in Fulton County. He also serves as a military police officer in the Army Reserve, an active shooter instructor and graduated with Associate of Science from Vincennes. Campbell comes to the department with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Marian University, a Masters of Art in cognitive psychology from Ball State University and is working on her doctorate. Most recently, Campbell served as a senior clinical data associate for Eli Lilly. She was also the 2015 North America Muay Thai Classic bantam weight champion and the 2010 World Kickboxing Association champion in 2010. With the appointment of the first female as deputy since the department's creation in 1822, other female leaders in the community attended the ceremony.
