Help your favorite charity on Give Local Putnam County Day

Friday, April 29, 2016

Hosted by the Putnam County Community Foundation, Give Local Putnam County is a 24-hour, online giving event that will be held on Tuesday, May 3.

Giving begins at 12 a.m and ends at 11:59 p.m. (EST). Secure credit card and debit card donations may be made online at www.pcfoundation.org.

Anyone may give to an endowment administered by the Putnam County Community Foundation. Organizations are encouraged to let their members and donors know about this opportunity for support, as the top three organizations that raise the most money will each receive an additional $500 which they may use immediately or contribute to their endowment fund.

"We are excited about this event for all of our endowment fund holders, but especially for our Share the Dream participants. This event does count toward their Share the Dream efforts," Community Foundation Executive Director Elaine Peck said.

Peck also stressed that it was not too late for other organizations to join the annual contest.

AgrIInstitute, Bainbridge High School Alumni Association, Cloverdale Lions Club, Greencastle High School Alumni Association, North Putnam Alumni Association, Putnam County Board of Realtors, Becky Brothers Service Scholarship, Purdue Club of Putnam County, Putnam County Fairgrounds, and the Putnam County Youth Development Commission are all currently participating in Share the Dream to build their endowment funds.

Give Local Putnam County raises money for the community and helps make the county a more vital, vibrant place to live. Give Local Putnam County connects the community with the national Give Local America day when community foundations from all over the country raise money for charitable endowments and nonprofits in their communities.

The Putnam County Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1985 to help donors establish endowments, award grants, and provide leadership, enriching the quality of life and strengthening community in Putnam County. The Foundation has been entrusted with more than 279 funds and endowments for donors, supporting a variety of charitable purposes.
