Cooperative effort to save DAR cabin
To the Editor:
Washburn Chapter NSDAR wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed to our Save the Cabin Fund.
Work has begun on the replacement of the roof of the DAR cabin at Robe-Ann Park, with the cabin and smokehouse porch repairs to follow at an unspecified date..
Scot Dunn, of Dunn Renovations, is doing the work
A special thanks goes to Headley Hardware, which contributed funds and materials toward the project. Putnam County has been the home of the family of Randall Jones since 1820, making him proud to be an eighth-generation resident. In four years the family will be celebrating the move of their Uncle Tommy Jackson to Putnam County.
Additional thanks go to Black Lumber Co. and Singleton Lumber for their contribution of materials to the project.
All donations, great and small, from members, families of members and non-members, contributed to the success of our campaign and are greatly appreciated. They allowed us to Save the Cabin for future generations to come.
A rededication ceremony will be held at Robe-Ann Park at a date and time to be announced.
For God, Home and Country ...
