County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 8 p.m. on Monday, Tiffany Marie Rominger, 25, Indianapolis, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and for being a habitual traffic violator.

* At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, John Randal Stewart, 41, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

At 2:11 p.m. Erin Little, 27, Gosport, was arrested on a warrant.

At 11:10 p.m. Steven Duke, 36, Clay City, was booked in on a pair of warrants.

* At 1:16 a.m. on Wednesday, Cody Dale Spaulding, 22, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

At 5:40 a.m. Thomas Wayne Stevens, 30, Greencastle, was charged with public intoxication.

City Police

A minor two-vehicle mishap was reported Friday, April 29 on the parking lot of Pizza King, 400 Bloomington St.

Kimberly Vickery, 47, Greencastle, was attempting to exit the parking lot in a 2013 Volkswagen as Sandy Greene, 19, Cloverdale, was backing a 2003 Ford from a parking space in front of the restaurant.

Sgt. Eric Vaughan estimated total damage in the collision at $1,000-$2,500.

Four recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

* At 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Stephan Linden, 56, Centerpoint, was cited by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on South Jackson Street due to a speeding concern, Linden was cited for having no license in his possession.

* At 6:36 a.m. Tuesday, Jodi Reuter, 23, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Jones.

Stopped at Kirkwood Drive and Albin Pond Road, Reuter was cited for disregarding a stopsign and driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

* At 10:10 a.m. Friday, Chelsea Davis, 22, Roachdale, was ticketed by Sgt. Ed Wilson.

Following a minor mishap in the parking lot of Acute Medical Care on Indianapolis Road, Davis was cited for having no proof of financial responsibility.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies have investigated five recent property damage accidents.

* At 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Pamela S. Wikle, 71, Cloverdale, was southbound on U.S. 231 stopped at the automatic signal for County Road 900 South in a 2011 Ford Fiesta.

Wikle told Capt. Tom Helmer she saw an older model black vehicle approaching from behind her "at a high rate of speed" and knew it would not be able to stop without hitting the rear of her vehicle.

The second vehicle rear-ended Wikle's car, after which she exited her vehicle. She saw the driver to be a white male with a white beard who appeared to be intoxicated.

Wikle told him to stay at the scene while she called the police, but the man fled the scene, driving southbound into Cloverdale.

She could not tell the make, model or registration number of the vehicle, but said it was scratched up and appeared to have been involved in other mishaps.

Wikle was not injured.

Damage was estimated at less than $1,000. Wikle drover her car from the scene.

* At 9:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Leia J. Zoll, 24, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 200 North near Count Road 675 East in a 1995 Ford Mustang. Brett P. Sosebee, 16, Greencastle, was southbound on 675 East stopped at 200 North in a 2014 Nissan Altima.

Zoll told Deputy Riley Houghton that Sosebee turned in front of her and she could not avoid the collision. Sosebee said he saw Zoll's vehicle but proceeded, believing the car was farther away that it was.

Zoll complained of shoulder pain following the accident.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 9:27 p.m. on Tuesday, Kenny L. Stiver, 49, Poland, was westbound on County Road 1000 South in the area of County Road 100 East when he hit a deer.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at less than $1,000.

* At 9:10 p.m. on Monday, Jacob T. Williams, 19, Reelsville, was southbound on County Road 375 West in a 2005 Ford Ranger when he hit a deer.

Deputy Jacob Harrington estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches and two medical assists.

* At 5:22 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded assisted in the cleanup of a motor-vehicle accident just north of the intersection of Ablin Pond and Arlington roads. No injuries were reported.

* At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 208 E. Olive St. The cause of the alarm was unknown. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station.

* At 7:19 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD performed a service call at 105 E. Ridgelane Rd. A resident required assistance in the replacement of smoke-detector batteries and returned to station.

* At 12:24 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 503 S. Jackson St.
