Boyd honored in Ehrmann competition

Elianna Boyd of Cloverdale Elementary School recently represented Putnam Count in the Max Ehrmann Poetry Competition in Terre Haute.

This is Boyd's second year to win the elementary division. She was selected among 157 poets from across Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties.

The theme for this year's contest was "You Are a Child of the Universe: Poems of Belonging and Not Belonging."

Winners were honored in an April 28 ceremony at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Elianna is the daughter of Don and Julie Boyd.
