The Market is Open

Banner Graphic/ERIC BERNSEE Despite threatening skies that eventually produced some raindrops, the Greencastle Farmers' Market gets under way for the season Saturday morning on the east side of the Putnam County Courthouse Square. A variety of vendors offered items such as plants, kettle corn, pictures and postcards, baked goods and more with the main produce season yet to come. All May markets will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and run through noon. As more vendors join the weekly Saturday action, the Farmers' Market will take up space on the north side of the square as needed. Providing musical entertainment for the market opener is graduating DePauw University senior Issac Loya.
