Alice R. Sparks

Alice R. Sparks, 89, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Hickory Creek of Franklin.

She was born July 11, 1926 in Tazwell County, Va. She was the daughter of Milburn R. and Mollie Alice (Puckett) Whitt.

She married Ralph E. Sparks on Oct. 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1997.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Moore (Michael), Sarasota, Fla., Connie McCune (Jim), Franklin, Randall Sparks, Allentown, N.J., Paula Meyers (Gary), Indianapolis, Alisa Lewis, Plainfield, and Gina Knauss (Scott), Alpharetta, Ga.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Carol Baxter, Greencastle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
