BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band will present "Hoosier Band: The Force Awakens" at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 5 at the Forest Park bandshell or pavilion if rain.

Director Matthew S. Huber, in his 35th year on the podium, and the Brazil Band will celebrate the Indiana Bicentennial throughout the summer by including Indiana-related music each week.

For this concert, the BCB will play "Greater Indiana" by J. Gus Davis of Brazil who directed the BCB for a 20-year period in the early 20th century.

Also "Back Home Again In Indiana" by MacDonald and Hanley arranged by Barnes and "The New Friendship March" by Fred Jewell the Indiana March King and former member of the BCB.

Hot off the musical press is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" by John Williams and arranged by Jay Bocook. It features elements of the nearly 40 years that Star Wars has entertained the world, including themes from the latest movie.

Also new is "Zeus: King Of The Gods" by Rob Romeyn with its quick tempos and exciting brass, woodwind and percussion parts.

"Emperata Overture" by Claude Smith is a staple with bands worldwide with its beautiful solos and tricky time signatures.

Two new editions of John Philip Sousa marches are "Liberty Loan" from World War I and "Powhatan's Daughter" from 1907, celebrating the 300th anniversary of Jamestown, Va.

Opening night includes Frank Ticheli's "Loch Lomond" and the John Bourgeois edition of Jacques Offenbach's "Galop from Genevieve de Brabant."

The Brazil Concert Band performs every Sunday evening through Aug. 28.
