Snyder paces Clovers in sectional play
MARTINSVILLE -- Cloverdale finished eighth in the boys' golf sectional at Martinsville's Fox Cliff Golf Club on Monday.
The Clovers shot a 380, led by an 87 from Chase Snyder.
Kylar Galloway added a 90 for the Clovers, while Drew Boyette shot a 97 and Zach Nichols and Zarek Wellington each had a 106.
Brownsburg and Mooresville tied for first place in the team standings with a 312, with Brownsburg emerging as the victor based upon the fifth-player score.
Plainfield was third with a 318, while Avon was fourth with a 329, Cascade was fifth with a 354, Martinsville was sixth with a 357, Tri-West was seventh with a 378, Cloverdale was eighth with a 380, Danville was ninth with a 387, Owen Valley was 10th with a 424 and Monrovia was 11th with a 436.
Individual players advancing to the regional from non-qualifying teams were Jackson Franchville (74) and Garrett Compliment (78) of Cascade and Cameron Klein (80) of Avon.
The medalist was Jacob Bejcha of Plainfield with a 73, while Franchville was tied for second overall with Jack Speedy and Matthew Chapman of Mooresville and Luke Kely of Brownsburg.
