County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 8:54 a.m. Wednesday, Victoria Ashley Chiamaka Ibeh, 20, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a Vigo County warrant.

* At 4:11 a.m. Wednesday, Barbara L. Person, 35, Greencastle, was taken into custody for possession of marijuana.

* At 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Stephen Jarod Bridges, 34, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrant.

City Police

Two area residents received summons into court from Greencastle City Police officers following separate recent traffic stops.

* At 12:43 a.m. Thursday, Robert Speedy, 18, Cloverdale, was stopped by Officer Brad Hiatt on Veterans Memorial Highway.

Speedy received a summons for possession of paraphernalia following the traffic stop.

* At 2:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Dustyn Maesch, 22, Brazil, was stopped on South Jackson Street by Officer Zach Rhine.

Maesch received a summons for possession of marijuana and for possession of paraphernalia following the traffic stop.

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

* At 4:33 p.m. Sunday, Donald Cantrell, 37, Fillmore, was ticketed for speeding by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Cantrell was cited for 53 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 4:14 p.m. Sunday, Dakota Jones, 21, Greencastle, was cited for speeding by Officer Eastham.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Jones was ticketed for 54 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 1:52 p.m. Sunday, Taurean Terry, 34, Greencastle, was ticketed for speeding on Percy Julian Drive.

Stopped by Officer Eastham, Terry was cited for 39 mph in a 20-mph zone.

* At 10:32 a.m. Sunday, Karrie Poynter, 41, Stilesville, was cited for speeding on Fillmore Road.

Stopped by Officer Eastham, Poynter was ticketed for 59 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 1:08 a.m. Sunday, Patrick Ireland, 74, Cloverdale, was cited for speeding by Officer Eastham.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Ireland was ticketed for 60 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 6:39 p.m. Saturday, Joseph Ford-Suding was ticketed by Officer Hiatt.

Stopped on Fawnview Lane, Ford-Suding was cited for having an expired license plate.

* At 1:09 p.m. June 8, Dennis Brickert, 62, Rockville, was cited for speeding on Fillmore Road.

Stopped by Officer Eastham, Brickert was ticketed for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches and one lift assist.

* At 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a water-flow fire alarm at 2200 E. State Road 240. The system unnecessarily pressurized, but did not activate, which caused the alarm to take place. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 5:02 p.m.

* At 6:41 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of a tree in the roadway at the intersection of Kirkwood Drive and Albin Pond Road. GFD cleared the obstruction before returning to station at 6:51 p.m.

* At 3:16 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 106 S. Spring St. The alarm, which was sounding upon arrival within the building's apartment numbered nine, was reset after GFD was unable to determine the cause. GFD returned to station at 3:26 a.m.

* At 10:43 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to and assisted with a spillage cleanup on U.S. 231, approximately one mile south of U.S. 36. A trailer-in-tow disconnected from its lead vehicle and was subsequently struck by a northbound semi-trailer (fuel tanker). The trailer, which passed under the tanker, caused around 150 gallons of diesel fuel to spill onto the roadway. GFD assisted the Bainbridge Fire Department in the cleanup process and returned to station at 1:23 p.m.
