Everyone Wins In Band Raffle

Banner Graphic/Chelsea Modglin The Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars program donated $12,011 to the Clover Command on Monday. Funds for the donation came from the raffle of a 1987 El Camino, courtesy of Al Tucker of Cloverdale Auto Exchange, that ran from April to May. Jason Baugh won the car, but chose to take the $6,000. The $250 cash prize winners were Jerry Bates, Chad Collins, Bruce Cook and Dan Hamilton. The $500 prize winners were Chad Collins, Greg Crum, Rita Garrett, Russell Mattingly and Craig Reynolds. The band plans to use the donation for their upcoming trip to Washington, D.C. The Clover Command looks on as the check is presented to band members Evan Williamson and Chloe Mannan (two left), Trinity Rairdon and Jimmy Teate (two right), Cloverdale High School Principal Sonny Stoltz (middle left), Middle School Principal Dawn Tucker (middle) and Band Director Willam Cole (middle right). "We've got a lot of happy kids, a lot of happy parents and one very happy band director," Vivian Whitaker, Secretary of Dollars for Scholars, said.
